Wembley Stadium

  • Client: Wembley Stadium / UKPN
  • Location: Wembley Stadium
  • Description: 4200m 8 Way Duct and Cabling
  • Duration: 26 weeks
  • Value: £790,000.00

This scheme was constructed in two phases, from the west and the southeast in order to connect enough power to the new Wembley Stadium site. During the course of these works in such a heavily built up area of London, several issues had to be addressed, specialist digging techniques were required to provide a timber heading over a 15-metre length to secure the route of duct and cable system.

Particular attention was given to the environment, after discussions with local authorities an environmental action plan was implemented and specialist excavation techniques were used when trenching through Tokyngton recreation ground in order to restore the working area to its existing surroundings. Safety Methodology & Execution of works in this area had to be very sensitive and meticulous, as surroundings close by were young childrens play areas, coupled with the wider public leisure neighbourhood. Very close liaison with local Water network provider was required as route needed to be changed to avoid ageing highly pressurised pipes.
